About Kerry

notbadI’m a reader, writer, and editor, in that order. I have an academic background in English literature and creative writing, as well as professional experience in many fields including admissions, affiliate marketing, book publishing, higher education, and web content management. I’m currently a proposal writer at Percussion Software, a provider of enterprise web content management systems, and the co-editor of Bostonist.com, a website about Boston. My aspirations include becoming a famous novelist (after a stint as a struggling short story writer) and someday making a small fortune in the horse business (by starting with a large one).

In addition to my personal site, I have a WordPress blog about online commentary and electronic publishing that I once updated regularly and now update sporadically.

Once you’re done exploring this site, you can read my Bostonist posts, get LinkedIn with me, or follow my personal Twitter account. There’s also a resume (PDF) around here somewhere.

About the site: An evolution from a Wordpress site (now closed) that Kerry began in 2007, KerrySkemp.com originated as an assignment for John Rodzvilla’s graduate electronic publishing course at Emerson College. Kerry wrote the original code herself (here’s what it used to look like) before succumbing to the ease of the WordPress theme. Design improvements are perpetually in progress.
